BUFFALO BILL
William Frederick Cody , known as "Buffalo Bill" (or "Buffalo Bill") - an American soldier, hunter and one of the first and most famous entertainers U.S. (and world), one of the most prominent figures of the American Wild West.
William Cody was born Feb. 26, 1846 near the town of Le Claire, Iowa, in a Quaker family, who came from Canada. When William was seven years, his family moved to Leavenworth, Kansas.
Father Bill was a staunch opponent of slavery and actively struggled with him. During one of transshipments on this occasion his father, William, Isaac, Cody, was stabbed. He survived but never recovered from his injuries and died in 1857. Cody's family was left without money and eleven Billie a job as a courier.

In 1893 the name was changed to "Buffalo Bill's Wild West and dashing riders around the world." The repertoire of the show has expanded considerably, but the now familiar American Indians and cowboys of Buffalo Bill attracted to participate in its representation of Arabs, Mongols, Turks, Georgians and South American gauchos. They all spoke in colorful national costumes and even their horses were specific to the region of rocks.

William Cody was one of the initiators of the reservoir on the river near the town of Shoshone Cody. This project was one of the first for the newly organized U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
